Residence visa in Dubai extension for divorced and widowed women

If a woman residing in the UAE on her husband’s visa is divorced or widowed,

the UAE government will extend her RESIDENCE VISA IN DUBAI for one year.

The extension begins on the day the husband dies or gets divorced.

This type of visa can be renewed only once and does not require an alternate sponsor.

The extension also applies if the woman’s children held the father’s visa at the time of the father’s death or divorce.

Expiry of the Residence visa in Dubai outside the UAE

The general rule is that if a resident expatriate lives outside the UAE for more than 180 continuous days,

his residency visa will be automatically cancelled. If so, they will need to apply for a new entry permit to re-enter the UAE.

However, there are some exceptions that allow foreign residents to stay outside the UAE for more than 6 months while maintaining the validity of their RESIDENCE VISA IN DUBAI.

This Rule does not Apply:

Foreign spouses of Emirati citizens
Domestic workers with Emiratis on scholarships to study abroad
Domestic help with UAE patients or sent abroad for treatment

Domestic workers accompanying diplomatic and consular staff representing the UAE abroad and embassy staff holding UAE resident visas
Foreign residents working in the public sector sent by their employers to attend educational or professional courses,

or persons working in the employer’s office abroad and their family members holding valid UAE resident visas.
Foreign students studying at universities or institutions abroad (subject to Dubai regulations).

Check with ICP if applicable for your emirate of residence.
Domestic support for members of the ruling family working in the royal family abroad and holders of valid UAE resident visas
Students enrolled in a foreign educational institution holding a valid UAE resident visa
Investors holding a valid RESIDENCE VISA IN DUBAI in the UAE
Residents sponsored by UAE diplomatic and consular representatives and their families
Other persons as determined by the ICP must have a valid resident visa and pay a fee.

What are the UAE resident visa in Dubai rules and regulations?

All nationalities except Emirati nationals or nationals of GCC countries will need the appropriate RESIDENCE VISA IN DUBAI permit to reside in the UAE.

Unlike other countries where you must apply for a residency visa from outside the country you wish to settle in (such as the EB-5 visa in the US),

you can only finalize the residency visa process from within the Emirates.

Remember, applying for your initial entry permit is different than getting a residence permit.

If you are in the UAE on a tourist visa and receive a job offer while on vacation,

you can apply for a work permit by exiting the UAE territory.

However, you do not need to return to your home country;

Some airlines have the option of a Dubai-Amman-Dubai flight, if you need to do a quick visa.

Your employer can also go through a ‘change of status’ process that will allow you to stay in the

UAE through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GFDRA),

in the emirate where the company is headquartered.

If you own real estate in Dubai worth more than one million dirhams,

you can apply for a two-year residence permit.

Please note that this investor visa does not give you a work permit and you cannot spend more than 6 months a year outside the UAE or your visa will become invalid.

If you are setting up a business in the UAE and you don’t have sponsorship from your employer,

don’t worry. You can obtain a work permit and then residency by establishing your company.

Whether you are looking to incorporate in a free zone or on the UAE mainland,

our team at Emirates European Group can assist you in the process.

If you don’t, your visa will automatically be canceled and you’ll have to go through the process all over again.

Visa cancellation in or out of Y

During the visa cancellation process, the applicant may be in or out of y. Of course, certain rules apply.
